The Goodwood Festival of Speed has historically been a place where automotive manufacturers show off not only production vehicles, but also demonstrators, or one-off builds that push the proverbial performance envelope. This is certainly true of Ford, which has – most recently – used the historic event to show off some of its own EV demonstrators such as the rather bonkers Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 and the latest SuperVan. Now, it seems as if that tradition will continue at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed with the debut of a brand new Ford Mustang Mach-E variant.
In a teaser video recently posted via Twitter, this new Ford Mustang Mach-E model is seen driving around behind a pair of production crossovers, but eventually, it pulls off the pavement and heads on down a dirt road. We can clearly see some interesting details here including a similiar Ford Performance livery that debuted on the recently-revealed S650 Mustang racers, along with unique wheels and black fender arches, suggesting that we’re most likely looking at some kind of rally-inspired EV.
“Ford will also deliver the first look at an exciting new member of the Mustang family at Goodwood on July 14 – not only pulling back the covers, but also showcasing its driving potential,” the automaker said of its new model. Set to debut at Goodwood’s First Glance Paddock at 13:00 CET, the new model arrives just in time to celebrate 50 years of the FIA World Rally Championship, and three of the automaker’s own drivers – Adrien Fourmaux, Harry Tincknell, and Ott Tänak – will be behind the wheel.
