Once one of the most common sights on America’s roadways, the Ford Taurus has largely disappeared, which is typically the case with older, discontinued vehicles. However, we’re starting to see more and more nice, low-mile examples of the once world-beating machine pop up for sale, including a 42k-mile 1989 SHO and a 32k-mile LX wagon, to name just a couple. Now, this stellar 1993 Ford Taurus SHO has surfaced for sale at Bring a Trailer, giving someone a great opportunity to pick up a nice example of the high-performance sedan.
This 1993 Ford Taurus SHO is also a low-mile gem, with just 43k miles showing on the odometer and few flaws to note. Finished in Deep Emerald Green, it has never left the state of Pennsylvania throughout its entire lifespan, and has lived under just two owners over the past 30 years. It also remains in bone stock condition, with only the typical scratches and deformed window molding marring its otherwise immaculate finish.
The same goes for the black leather interior, which looks nearly as good as new, save for the typical creases in the seats. Otherwise, there are plenty of amenities here to enjoy, including automatic climate control, cruise control, a power-adjustable driver seat, a premium sound system with an AM/FM/cassette stereo, power windows, door locks, and mirrors, and even an old fashioned car phone, though it doesn’t actually work.
Power for this 1993 Ford Taurus SHO comes from the Yamaha-sourced DOHC 3.2L V6, which was factory-rated to produce 220 horsepower. It sends that power to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission for what was once considered brisk performance, though it’s still acceptably capable even by today’s standards. Perhaps more importantly, nice SHOs like this one are getting harder to find, making this one a rather enticing offering.
We’ll have more cool auction finds to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Taurus news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Does it come with 3 new clutch assemblies and cams with pressed sockets that are 30 year old from dealer stock so you can reach 100k? You cannot buy one part for that regardless what it is. Everyone overlooks the inherent flaws and just sees a “1993 Taurus sho”……do diligently and look it up and read…..uhg. and why this is somehow promoted by you as great is simply not fathomable.
You are confusing the v8 SHO with this V6. The first generation has no issues with cam sprockets.
I’ll offer $800 ..It’s an Automatic..that’s the main problem..Weak transmission..Need to be changed over to a 5 SPD..
Well, the green is a nice color.
Cool in their time, not so much now. Had several, engine maintenance a pain, especially the shim in bucket valve adjusters. Need to go to motorcycle dealer to locate right thickness. Forget the auto and can’t holeshot the weak open diff.
One of the seniors in the neighborhood, still uses one as his daily driver. It just looks like an old vehicle, that isn’t very attractive.
Properly set up with some simple mods the sho was an incredible little sleeper. The sho motor was fast and dependable. Don’t show your ignorance by saying otherwise.
