The all-new 2023 Ford Transit Trail debuted back in November of last year as an off-road-focused, upfit-ready version of the top-selling van for those aiming to use it as more of an adventure camper of sorts. Effectively serving as a replacement for the optional Adventure Prep Package, the 2023 Ford Transit Trail features a host of unique exterior features that give it a distinctive look and more capability, while the inside was designed for the easy installation of things like shelving, cabinetry, and beds. However, those interested in ordering a 2023 Ford Transit Trail will want to do so soon, as order banks are set to close next week, sources familiar with the matter have told Ford Authority.
2023 Ford Transit Trail retail order banks are set to close on Monday, August 14th, 2023, at 4pm ET, though it’s worth noting that this does not apply to dealer stock orders. FoMoCo is making this move as a way to focus on building the existing orders it currently has in the system, as well as mitigate supply chain constraints. Meanwhile, retail order banks for the rest of the 2023 Transit lineup closed back on September 22th, 2022.
Dealers will be able to continue to place stock orders for the 2023 Transit Trail, but those orders will only be filled within existing commodity constraints, as is usually the case. After retail order banks have closed next week, customers will be able to modify specs, but those orders cannot be amended into any features which have already been closed.
In the meantime, Ford has been working to ramp up Transit production, in general, amid high demand for the large van. It accomplished this by adding a third shift at the Kansas City Assembly plant back in April, and the results of that move showed up quickly, as production increased by a whopping 75 percent in May, month-over-month.
We’ll have more on the 2023 Transit Trail soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

I’ve called a few dealers and all say there is no such thing as a transit trail, it isn’t orderable. Let me know where in the f these orders can be placed. Ford. Shaking head.
Yes same here. I just spoke to them today. Asking them if they are taking orders and they said no and wanted to sell me an existing one. Visit the VanDoIt website. They take orders.
Where does one place an order? Dealership? Online?
You can select trail when selecting the type transit. It’s 12k and you can remove the fan in the middle of the van
