2023 Lincoln Nautilus Order Banks Will Close Next Week

The 2023 Lincoln Nautilus represents the final year of production of the current generation midsize crossover, which debuted for the 2019 model year as a refresh of the MKX. With the all-new 2024 Nautilus on the horizon, it was only a matter of time before order banks for the current model closed. And now, sources say that the order banks will close at the end of August.

According to sources familiar with the matter, 2023 Lincoln Nautilus order banks will close on August 31th, 2023. That is the end date for all retail orders, although it is currently unclear if order banks for dealer stock remain open or have already closed. In any event, the crossover carried over into the 2023 model year with a small amount of changes, with the end of front-wheel drive being the biggest change. The lineup continued  virtually unchanged save the addition of one color and the deletion of another. The last major update arrived for the 2021 model year, when the cabin received a substantial overhaul that also included a new 13.2-inch Sync 4 center touchscreen.

The Nautilus has been a bright spot in the brand’s lineup, as it ranked second overall in the midsize premium segment in the J.D. Power 2023 Initial Quality Study. As a whole, the Lincoln brand ranked below average, as Ford continues to grapple with quality issues across its portfolio.

The 2023 Lincoln Nautilus officially became a lame duck model when the next-generation 2024 was revealed in April. The all-new model sits on a new platform and will be the first Lincoln product to feature a hybrid powertrain. Orders for the new model opened up immediately after its reveal and production is slated to begin in September, with an anticipated arrival date of early 2024. The crossover will be imported from China, as the Oakville Assembly plant, which produces the current generation model, will start producing electric vehicles in 2025.

  1. The Nautilus and Ford Edge have been reliable and efficient vehicles and have kept many Ford employees in North America gainfully employed for a long time. I’m still grappling with the imminent importation of the 2024 Nautilus from China which is bound to be unpopular with buyers in America. I assume it will be a stopgap measure to fill an obvious void in Lincoln’s lineup. I just bought a 2023 to avoid that dilemma.
