The 2024 Ford Mustang was revealed back in September 2022, and was originally slated to enter production at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in Michigan this summer – a pretty wide-open timeline. However, with Ford placing an emphasis on improving quality – particularly when it comes to new vehicles launches such as this one – it came as no surprise when the automaker paused early production of the new pony car when final quality reviews discovered some issues with V8 engine valves, body panel fitment, and electrical systems. Since then, 2024 Ford Mustang order holders have been waiting for deliveries to begin, but now, it seems as if that moment is finally almost here, according to the Associated Press.
2024 Ford Mustang deliveries are indeed set to begin next week, according to FoMoCo, ending a long wait for fans of the iconic pony car. Thus far, Ford has received around 13,000 orders for the S650-gen Mustang, of which roughly two-thirds – or 67 percent – are for the V8-powered GT or Dark Horse. Of that bunch, more than 25 percent also opted to pair the Coyote powerplant with a six-speed manual transmission.
As of late June, 27 percent of GT and Dark Horse customers had opted for either the MT-82 or Tremec six-speed manual gearboxes, while 22 percent of GT customers have chosen the Performance Package and 26 percent went for the Nite Pony Package. The addition of the new Electronic Drift Brake to the High Performance Package has boosted its take rate by 50 percent among Mustang EcoBoost customers compared to the prior three years, too.
The 2024 Ford Mustang features a heavily-revamped interior with loads of new tech that was designed specifically to attract young, tech-loving customers, as The Blue Oval revealed earlier this week. However, FoMoCo isn’t banking on many Chevy or Mopar fans jumping ship and buying a new Mustang, even as the Camaro and Challenger face very uncertain futures.

Finally, my 5 month wait will end!
I’m going to go look at one. And then wait for my DH Premium to show up. Don’t really care what the Nay Sayers have to say. They probably can’t afford one anyhow.
Hehehe!
Can not wait to get mine. So exciting…buying outright no payments yay!!
Ha new 2024 Mustangs were supposed to be in the showrooms by summer. Summer is over tomorrow, and I haven’t seen on yet.
