Ford of Mexico has been recognized multiple times for being a great place to work in recent years, ranking 10th on the 2023 Best LinkedIn Companies list, as well as seventh overall in FirstJob’s 2022 Best Technology Companies for Young Professionals in Mexico study. Now, Ford of Mexico continues to expand its proverbial trophy case after being recognized by Super Companies as the best company for women in the automotive industry and one of the 10 best in any industry.
This marks Ford of Mexico’s fifth first-place finish in these rankings across the past 15 years, which centers around programs, activities, and practices that aim to improve the quality of life of its employees, particularly in regards to issues related to motherhood and women’s participation in managerial positions. Ford of Mexico excels in this particular area, as 30 percent of directors and 40 percent of managers and deputy directors at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant, specifically, are female.
Ford of Mexico was also recognized for supporting a work-life balance among its workers, and recently implemented an extended breastfeeding period for new mothers, taking it from nine months to two years. Mothers employed by The Blue Oval are able to take advantage of special breastfeeding rooms two times a day for up to a half-hour, too. Additionally, Ford of Mexico also recently implemented childcare support programs, established dedicated facilities for remote work during maternity stages, and instituted a flexible paternity leave policy for its employees.
“We work in a diverse and inclusive environment that promotes capable and motivated people working together to drive innovation and deliver excellent results,” said Carlos Valdez, Director of Human Resources at Ford of Mexico. “We seek the daily creation of equal opportunities in all aspects, and create an environment in which we work with security and confidence, where we can be ourselves and our differences are valued.”
