Fox Body Ford Mustang Recaro Concept Seat Debuts

As Ford Authority reported last week, Ford Performance recently debuted a new retro-style car cover for the Fox Body Ford Mustang at the recent Motor City FoxFest,  a gathering of pony cars that was held at the automaker’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan – along with a new car cover and special Recaro seats for the S650-generation Mustang, too. However, Fox Body Ford Mustang owners also got a sneak peek at a concept Recaro seat for the older pony car as well, which may ultimately wind up landing in the Ford Performance catalog, too.

This Fox Body Ford Mustang concept Recaro seat – which may be called the “Monza 2.0,” if and when it does make it into production – is finished in gray with suede inserts for a cool, retro look – just like the aforementioned car cover. Those inserts provide a bit of contrast as opposed to the rest of the seat, and also feature bolsters that match the Ford Motorsport logo embroidery present on the upper portion of the concept.

The idea here is to provide Fox Body owners not only with a stylish, throwback design, but also a monotone feel. To accomplish this, the seats feature accent stitching in the same style, though a second concept seat is a bit different, as it’s finished in black, albeit with the same type of suede inserts, which provide a nice contrast for the Ford Motorsport logo and the tri-color accents present on the seat back and cushion, as well as the accent stitching.

In both cases, these concept Recaro seats feature the same Ford Motorsport logo embroidery, which celebrates the heritage of the Ford Racing brand in general. The seats themselves are designed to be both supportive and comfortable, perfect for both cruising around town and taking spirited trips around the canyons and other twisty roads – and by the looks of things, we’d say the company’s performance arm nailed it.
