In recent months, we’ve seen plenty of 10th generation Ford Thunderbird models pop up at various auction sites across the web, including a loaded 1995 model, a 46k-mile 1989 coupe, and NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon’s 1991 T-Bird, to name just a few. Now, that trend continues with this very nice, one-owner 1996 Ford Thunderbird, which is currently up for grabs at Cars & Bids with just over 69k miles on the clock.
Registered in Arizona since it was sold to that one owner, this 1996 Ford Thunderbird shows only the typical flaws one might expect from a vehicle of this age with that kind of mileage, including scuffs, scratches, chips, some weathered trim pieces, and a little interior wear. Otherwise, it’s in rather nice condition, sporting Silver Metallic paint and 16-inch directional alloy wheels on the exterior.
Inside the cabin, this T-Bird features a power driver’s seat, power windows, locks, and mirrors, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. It rides on a four-wheel independent suspension and is powered by the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8 that was originally rated to produce 205 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
In completely stock, unmodified, and rather nice condition, there isn’t much not to like about this 1996 Ford Thunderbird, particularly for those that appreciate these “personal luxury” coupes. It’s just a simple, honest car, one that figures to conjure up some interest over the next few days before the hammer falls – though it remains to be seen just how much someone is willing to shell out to add it to their own garage.
