1999 Ford Explorer With Just 53K Miles Up For Auction

A handful of second-generation Ford Explorer SUVs have crossed the digital auction block recently that are in surprisingly good condition, like a 1995 Explorer XLT and a 1995 Explorer Sport with shockingly low mileage, as well as a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT. Another 1999 Explorer is up for grabs on Bring A Trailer, and it’s another stellar example of the legendary SUV.

This 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer shows just 53,000 miles on the odometer, which is incredible considering that it rolled off the assembly line over two decades ago. It’s spent its entire life registered in Pennsylvania to one owner. and its first miles were turned as a dealer demonstration vehicle. Its two-tone paint scheme features Tropic Green paired with beige fender arches, integrated running boards, and bumper trim with chrome.

It rolls on a set of 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 255/70 Goodyear Wrangler white-outline tires, and also features four-wheel disc brakes.

Inside, this 1999 Ford Explorer boasts Medium Tan Prairie leather seats that barely show their age. The bucket seats up front are heated and power-adjustable, and the tan color is also reflected on the dashboard, center console, door panels and carpeting. Amenities include automatic climate control, a factory stereo with a six-disc CD changer and cassette player. The tilt-adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel is set before a 120 mph speedometer.

As for power, this 1999 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer harnesses the 5.0L V8 engine, rated at 215 horsepower and 288 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed via a four-speed automatic transmission to its four-wheel-drive driveline. It lists no accidents or other damage in its history, and shows signs of minor rust on the undercarriage.

As of this writing, the high bid is $7,000, with the auction set to close on September 30th, 2023. The listing notes that its sale will also include Eddie Bauer travel bags and two keys.
