In recent months, we’ve seen quite a few nice, first-generation Ford Taurus SHO sedans pop up at auction sites across the web, which isn’t surprising given how special this particular model was during its heyday, and remains today. That list includes a 1993 model with just 43k original miles, as well as a 1989 sedan with 42k miles. However, what we haven’t seen a lot of are newer examples of the sporty sedan, such as this 2016 Ford Taurus SHO that’s currently up for grabs at Cars & Bids.
This particular 2016 Ford Taurus SHO is finished in Ruby Red Tinted Clearcoat and has just 29,900 miles on the clock, which means that as one might imagine, it’s in pretty excellent condition. There are the typical scratches and paint chips on the outside, of course, along with curb rash on the 20-inch aluminum wheels, a cracked lower valance, and some touch up paint on the driver’s door, but otherwise, there aren’t too many bones to pick here.
The same goes for the interior, which is finished in Charcoal Black and is in mostly very nice condition save for the typical creases in the leather and some scratches in the plastic components. Otherwise, this is a nicely equipped machine with features including a power sunroof, multi-contour, heated, and cooled front seats, power adjustable pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Sync 3.
The main attraction of this 2016 Ford Taurus SHO, however, is what lies under the hood – the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which in this guise was originally rated to produce 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, which flows to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. With performance that’s still solid by today’s standards, we imagine that this generation of the Taurus SHO will soon become a more coveted collectible – but this one will serve as a solid litmus test for that theory, regardless.
We’ll have more cool auction finds to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Taurus news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

Whomever is lucky enough to grab this vehicle, do it.
I own one and love driving it daily, has more than enough grunt to put most in their places when stepping over the line.
The interesting thing about the design is that it could easily be turned into the Navicross coach door concept that Lincoln showed back 20 years ago. I’d buy Navicross over the current lineup of Lincoln SUV trucks.
