When the sixth-generation Ford Bronco debuted for the 2021 model year, it did so with a rather long list of features and options that were supply constrained – including the Trailer Tow Package. As a result, many owners opted against ticking that particular box on their order sheet to speed up deliveries with the intentions of purchasing this equipment later on down the road. Now, that’s possible with an array of aftermarket options, but The Blue Oval itself also just released a 2021-2023 Ford Bronco trailer tow wiring kit to make the job a bit easier while also adding yet another option to the SUV’s ever-expanding catalog.
The new 2021-2023 Ford Bronco trailer tow wiring kit is designed to be fully compatible with the Bronco’s electrical system, helping to keep one’s trailer functional and connected securely. It comes complete with the necessary module and the harnesses needed to splice or connect to the factory electrical system for both four- and seven- pin trailer wiring – a big sticking point since many aftermarket kits are four-pin only. The kit also provides customers with the wiring needed for the installation of aftermarket trailer brake controllers, too.
Sold under part number VP2DZ15A416A, the 2021-2023 Ford Bronco trailer tow wiring kit retails for $279 or 55,800 FordPass points, and can be installed by oneself or at a dealership, though The Blue Oval recommends going the latter route. In that case, installation costs an additional $120, or 24,000 FordPass points.
The beauty of this particular kit – aside from the aforementioned four- and seven- pin compatibility – is that it’s a genuine Ford accessory, meaning that it’s designed specifically by the manufacturer to work on the Ford Bronco, which should give buyers a little extra peace of mind, to boot.

This is an important addition to accessories. I’m still glad I waited for a factory hitch, which was much cheaper than adding an accessory hitch and wiring kit and the associated labor.
I have yet to find a Ford dealership that would install the hitch and wiring for the $120 they say their hourly rate is more than that and it takes the greatest part of a day. On my 2023 Ford Bronco
