2024 Ford Escape Adds New Race Red Color: First Look

There’s one new color on deck for the 2024 Ford Escape, known as Race Red. Here’s a first look at the sporty crimson hue.

Race Red is tagged with paint code PQ, and is one of eight available colors for the 2024 Ford Escape. It’s exclusively available on the Escape Active and fleet-only Base trim, and is a no-cost option for the crossover. It can be outfitted in conjunction with two interior colorways: Ebony and Space Gray.

The entire color lineup for the 2024 Ford Escape is as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Star White Metallic Tri-coat (AZ)
  • Vapor Blue Metallic (K1)
  • Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (D4)
  • Iconic Silver Metallic (JS)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Agate Black Metallic (UM)
  • Oxford White (YZ)
  • Race Red (PQ) (new for 2024)

Meanwhile, the following list outlines all available interior colorways:

  • Ebony
  • Space Gray
  • Ebony with Red stitching

Finally, the following are all available trim levels for the 2024 Escape:

  • Base (fleet only)
  • Active
  • ST-Line
  • ST-Line Select
  • Platinum
  • ST-Line Elite
  • PHEV

Coming off a refresh for the 2023 model year, the 2024 Ford Escape doesn’t feature many major changes or updates, aside from the aforementioned change to the Base trim, which is now a fleet-only trim level. That means the Active is now the entry level trim for the Escape, and includes a chrome front grille strip, body-color door handles, chrome upper window molding, black beltline molding, a power liftgate and 17-inch Shadow Silver-painted aluminum wheels.

Meanwhile, inside the cabin, the Active trim also features unique cloth bucket seats with eight-way power adjustability for the driver, a rear center armrest, sliding sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, intelligent access, push button start, and two passive keys. However, the 2024 Escape no longer features the SecuriCode keypad across the board.

  1. Too bad it’s not available on the Maverick and Bronco Sport.

  2. Major Feature Change: Subscription based GPS!! Connected Navigation, not Connected Built-In Navigation. AA and Carplay are no where near as reliable as a built in Nav.

    1. AA and Carplay are not navigation applications. AA and Carplay let you use the Navigation application of your choice. Stop spreading stupid FUD. If your navigation application isn’t reliable, you have the option to use a different one which suits your needs better. Sounds to me like you’re just a shill for an expensive subscription. Where do you think Ford gets its maps and data from anyway???

  3. We want a hybrid in race red. Please reconsider putting it available on other models
. We have an Elite hybrid 2024 on order in Rapid red but are seriously considering cancelling

  4. This is not a flattering color on the Escape; gives it a very strong rental car essence.

  5. I would seriously consider buying a Ford Escape PHEV if it was available in race red.
