Over the past several months, Ford Authority has reported on the forthcoming, refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 extensively, spotting numerous prototypes out testing at the same time. Thus, we already know quite bit about the revised pickup, but now, The Blue Oval has officially pulled the covers off its proverbial cash cow at the Detroit Auto Show, and there’s quite a bit of information to digest given the fact that this is a mid-cycle action and not a full-blown redesign – including for the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor and Raptor R, which get a host of updates as well.
In terms of looks, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor features a new modular front bumper that’s accessory-capable, with a light bar available as an option to boot. For models equipped with 37-inch tires, the bumper end caps have been modified to expose more of the front tire, which gives it a more aggressive look and improves off-road capability at the same time. The new bumper is joined by standard forged tow hooks, along with a wide blackout grille, and new headlamps.
Along with a new exterior color choice – Shelter Green – the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor lineup offers up new symmetrical hood graphics that are unique for both the Raptor and Raptor R, along with new graphics above the wheel lip molding, with a body side graphic located beneath each and a blackout tape micro-texture paired with Code Orange coloring.
The Raptor R gets even more unique styling touches in the form of a larger power dome hood, wheel lip molding graphics, a box side graphic, a unique hood graphic, two front fender emblems, and blackout tape micro-texture paired with Code Orange coloring and Carbonized Gray.
Underneath, the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor lineup comes with new Fox dual live-valve shocks with position-sensitive compression control and continuously variable rebound controls, which enhance off-road capability even further thanks to the fact that these units can adapt damping to match body control to the off-road environment via Ford Performance-developed off-road algorithms. However, some F-150 Raptor configurations still offer the carry-over live valve shocks, according to the automaker.
The 2024 Ford F-150 is slated to launch in early 2024, with order banks set to open up tomorrow, the afternoon of September 13th. The automaker notes that it has simplified the ordering process by reducing complexity by 90 percent, while making features such as the extended range fuel tank and Class IV trailer hitch standard across the lineup.
