In recent years, Ford has been keen to focus on the post-purchase experience, offering fans the chance to attend racing school and Track Attack events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, along with the multi-location Bronco Off-Roadeo, Raptor Assault, and even the Ford F-150 Raptor Off-Road Academy in China, all of which given owners of those vehicles the opportunity to learn all about them, develop new skills, and then test those skills in a closed-course setting. Now, owners of 2024 Ford Mustang models will also soon get the chance to do precisely that, thanks to a variety of new experiences that were just revealed by the automaker itself.
First up, 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost and GT owners will be able to take advantage of a new destination driving event at the Ford Performance Racing School at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is similar to the existing Track Attack program. Ford notes that this new offering will give owners something of a “choose-your-own-adventure” type of experience, and they’ll be able to pick from things like on-track driving, drifting, line-lock/burnout classes, and more.
However, Ford Mustang Dark Horse owners get something even cooler – a new Track Attack experience that caters specifically to the new range-topping variant. The Dark Horse Track Attack also takes place at Charlotte Motor Speedway and is complimentary for owners – minus transportation and lodging – giving them the chance to spend two days learning in the classroom and on the track, as well as the skid pad and autocross. There, they’ll learn how to use features like no-lift shift, take on some lead-follow laps with three 20-minute sessions, and ride shotgun with an instructor as they complete hot laps at the track. Dark Horse owners will be able to register for the new Track Attack experience starting this coming January.
Additionally, Mustang owners will soon be able to take advantage of a new digital portal that gives them a platform on which to engage with fellow fans, while FoMoCo plans on hosting events in 10 cities across the U.S. to celebrate the pony car. Details on this traveling extravaganza have yet to be announced, however.
We’ll have more on these experiences soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Mustang news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
