Ford Ranger Nominated For 2024 Truck Of The Year Award

In recent years, The Blue Oval has racked up its fair share of North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards, with the Ford Mustang Mach-E winning 2021 North American Utility of the Year, the Ford Bronco earning 2022 North American Utility of the Year, the Ford Maverick being named 2022 North American Truck of the Year, and the Ford F-150 Lightning taking home 2023 North American Truck of the Year honors. That trend continues with the latest round of nominations as well, as the all-new S650 Ford Mustang is among a handful of models vying for 2024 North American Car of the Year, and the Ford Super Duty has also been nominated for 2024 North American Truck of the Year – right alongside the all-new 2024 Ford Ranger.

The Ford Ranger is one of 25 vehicles vying for a NACTOY award, which was narrowed down from 52 eligible models. In terms of trucks, the Ranger is competing against the Chevy Colorado, Chevy Silverado EV, Super Duty, and GMC Canyon in a relatively small field this time around.

To determine the winner, a total of 50 jurors will evaluate each of these vehicles in every conceivable way. First, that group will meet in Michigan for an annual comparison drive, after which they’ll complete their individual and collective evaluations and cast votes to determine the three finalists in each category. Those finalists will be announced in Los Angeles on November 16th, and the winners will be revealed at a special event in Detroit on January 4th, 2024.

“The value of these awards is in the expertise and diverse perspectives of our jurors,” said NACTOY president Jeff Gilbert. “We all evaluate vehicles in a different way. In the end, we come to a consensus. The vehicles on this list are worthy of further evaluation, and we look forward to spending more time driving them, learning more about them, and comparing them with the competition.”

I don’t it’s fair that the Ranger be compared to/with a silverado EV, or the super duty. They are both bigger, and can do more. It’s not fair. Good Luck to the Ranger!!

evaluating a vehicle so you can tell the general public what to think before they get a chance to do that themselves by an organization they never heard of or care about. Something else baked into the final cost the consumer will have to pay for.
