Manhart BC 400 Revealed As Special Ford Bronco For Europe

Last summer, The Blue Oval announced that it would be exporting the Ford Bronco to Europe – albeit in limited quantities. However, customers in that region have very limited options, with just two trim levels available – Outer Banks and Badlands, as well as one engine choice – the twin-turbocharged Ford 2.7L V6 EcoBoost, along with the molded-in color hardtop. Regardless, those that want something a bit more unique or well-equipped can always look to the aftermarket, and German tuner Manhart Performance is among the first to step in with its just-revealed BC 400 version of the new Ford Bronco.

Typically known for its work on models from the likes of BMW and even Lamborghini, Manhart is now expanding its portfolio with the BC 400, which is based on the Badlands trim and is only being built in extremely scant quantities – just 10 units, in fact. Regardless, the goal here is to offer European customers something a bit closer to the Bronco Raptor – at least in terms of output – along with a host of appearance upgrades as well.

First, Manhart gives the 2.7L EcoBoost engine a boost with an intercooler upgrade, an AFE cold-air intake, stainless steel downpipes, and an ECU tune, which results in an output of 421 horsepower and 680 nM (502 pound-feet) of torque. This power infusion is accompanied by a set of 22×9.5-inch Manhart 12-spoke wheels, which are wrapped with 35×12.5-inch Renegade R7 off-road tires, covering up beefy six-piston Brembo brakes in the front.

In terms of appearances, Manhart gives the Ford Bronco a set of color-matched, painted fender flares – in this case, Sun Yellow – a color that also adorns the front grille’s “Bronco” lettering and various other pieces such as the tow hooks. Gloss black accents and stripes help break up that sea of yellow, and the color combo extends to the interior with the addition of lots of Alcantara for a more luxurious feel. Pricing for this package hasn’t yet been disclosed, but given its rarity and the premium other Manhart products command, we wouldn’t expect it to be any sort of bargain.
