Since its launch back in early 2021, Ford Blue Advantage – a new type of certified pre-owned vehicle shopping platform – has enjoyed tremendous success, helping customers and dealers alike during times of extreme new vehicle inventory shortages, as well as offering buyers a 14-day, 1,000-mile money-back guarantee. The launch of Ford Blue Advantage proved to be a big sales boost for the automaker – even as CPO sales, in general, declined – and as one might expect, the automaker’s cross-town rival, General Motors, soon launched its own competitor in the form of CarBravo. Now, the other “Detroit Big Three” automaker, Stellantis, is following suit.
Stellantis actually launched SPOTiCAR back in 2019 – but only in 11 countries across Europe. Now, it’s bringing the pre-owned vehicle program to the U.S., which will offer an array of Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Jeep, Ram, and Wagoneer vehicles that are selected, appraised, and prepared by specialists before being sold to customers.
SPOTiCAR vehicles are subjected to a series of multi-point checks before they’re sold to customers, and include a minimum three-month warranty and available extended warranty, three months of roadside assistance, a vehicle history and mileage check, available connected-vehicle services, trials, and subscriptions (if equipped), rental car reimbursement, and various finance options. Consumers can also buy and sell pre-owned vehicles on SPOTiCAR.com.
“SPOTiCAR arrives in the U.S. at a time of rapid change in the fast-growing, extremely competitive, and highly digitalized global used-car market,” said Head of U.S. Sales Jeff Kommor. “With SPOTiCAR, Stellantis further establishes itself as a multi-brand pre-owned vehicle operator. The program is designed to create an stress-free experience for customers in search of a pre-owned vehicle. Buyers can search the Stellantis brand vehicle of their choice through our designated SPOTiCAR website, and easily determine where to locate the one nearest to them before making their final purchase online or directly at the dealership.”
