Slowly but surely, we’re staring to see more and more Ford Ranger pickups from the compact era – prior to the model’s return to the U.S. as a mid-sizer in 2019 – pop up at various collector car auctions across the web. That list includes a 2004 Ranger Edge with 3k original miles, a 2008 XLT with 17k miles, and a 2011 XLT with just 5k miles on the clock. Now, those looking for a nice, gently used last-gen pickup can also bid on this 2011 Ford Ranger Sport that’s currently up for grabs at Bring a Trailer.
Amazingly, this 2011 Ford Ranger Sport SuperCab four-wheel drive pickup has just 2,700 miles showing on the odometer, and it has remained in the same family, essentially, after being acquired by the seller’s uncle when it was new. It’s clearly been well taken-care of over the years as well, as its Dark Shadow Gray Metallic paint shines like new and presents basically zero flaws, which is also the case with the truck’s 16-inch wheels and trim work.
Peek inside the cabin, and one will be greeted with a similar sight – perfect gray cloth upholstery along with a few amenities including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, power windows, and a CD stereo. If one didn’t know any better, they’d be forgiven for thinking that they had transported back in time and are looking at a brand new 2011 Ranger, in fact.
The same goes for the sanitary engine bay, which holds the familiar naturally-aspirated 4.0L V6, originally rated to produce 207 horsepower and 238 pound-feet of torque. That power flows to either the rear or all four wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Perhaps unsurprisingly, bidding on this gem of a Ranger has thus far been quite brisk, as it’s already past the $18k mark with three days left to go in the auction.
We’ll have more cool auction finds to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Ranger news and continuous Ford news coverage.

Too bad about the AUTOMATIC trans… the A4LD was a problematic dog, while the M5OD (Mazda manual) is bulletproof. 2 feet, 3 pedals, NOT a problem, lol…
