2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Recalled Over Heater Module Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups over an issue with the heater module.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the electronic cabin coolant heater module may be missing a solder joint, which can cause intermittent or no cabin heat and result in an inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, “Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems.”

The hazards: an inoperative windshield defrosting and defogging system may decrease the driver’s visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: electronic cabin coolant heater

Affected vehicles: select 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups built between July 27th, 2023 and August 30th, 2023.

Number of vehicles affected: 929

The fix: dealers will replace the electronic cabin coolant heater, free of charge.

Why even be surprised anymore? Those of you who bought this thing, the wait for the parts and trying to get an appointment at the dealer, it won’t take long. It’ll take a really really long time

Well if the heater stops working the battery will probably catch on fire so you’ll still have heat

Is there just ONE (1) vehicle that ford makes that hasn’t had a recall or Class Action law suit filed against it ? Was driving at highway speeds the other day when my f150 with the 10 speed trans decided to down shift … INTO FIRST GEAR ! It doesn’t have anti lock transmission. Scared the shi$ out of me when the back tires locked up. Good thing there was no around me when I took up 3 lanes to get it stopped sideways. ( ford says that’s normal )

The E SERIES chassis seems to be a FORD product that’s pretty trouble free. The motor home stripped chassis along with the F650-F750 are in that group too. If they screw up those, then they may as well close the doors.
