Following years of inventory shortages stemming from the pandemic and global supply chain issues, new vehicles have slowly been building up on dealer lots as of late. The good news for consumers is, this inventory glut has thus far caused prices to cool off a touch, though not as much as some would hope, even as the ongoing United Auto Workers (UAW) strike threatens to eventually impact inventory levels in a negative way. Regardless, some Ford models have been sticking around on dealer lots for a bit longer than the automaker would prefer, which has led to a new round of incentives, according to a dealer bulletin recently seen by CarsDirect.
Officially known as the “Aged Inventory Bonus Cash” discount, this new deal applies to the Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, and Ford F-150. Now through the end of October, customers can score $1,000 off Edge crossovers that have been in stock at a dealer for more 60 days in select markets such as Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Seattle. Additionally, 2023 Explorer Limited, Timberline, ST, Platinum, and King Ranch trims are eligible for the same deal.
The F-150 is a bit more limited, as this same $1,000 Aged Inventory Bonus Cash discount only applies to XLT-trimmed 2023 pickups in Boston and New York. Regardless, this deal can also be stacked with other promotions, including the 2023 F-150’s current financing deal of 0.9 percent over 36 months.
If stacked with additional discounts, this incentive may prove to be compelling for customers in the market for one of these three models, if they live in a region where they’re eligible to receive it, at least. The trick will be finding a vehicle that’s been sitting for at least 60 days, though at the moment, it seems like there are plenty out there ripe for the picking.
We’ll have more incentives to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for non-stop Ford news coverage.

Good luck with the Explorer…it is probably not sellable/deliverable due to the 360degree camera recall/stop sale.
