The Ford Bronco R – the racing version of the road-going, off-road focused SUV – debuted prior to the arrival of the sixth-generation model, and wound up scoring a second-place class finish and 70th overall in the 2020 Baja 1000. Packing a stock powertrain underneath its race-prepped flanks, the Ford Bronco R managed to help the automaker continue its storied success at the iconic off-road race, and now, it’s being immortalized in die-cast form by Mattel as part of a new promotion with the grocery chain Kroger.
Recently, Bronco fans had the chance to score a special Hot Wheels Red Line Club version of the Wildtrak, and now, the Ford Bronco R becomes the latest version of the rugged SUV to receive that same type of treatment. The Bronco R die-cast is a bit different, however, in that it isn’t being sold as a standalone offering. Rather, customers can only get the 1:64 collector’s edition model when they purchase $20 worth of Hot Wheels cars and/or multipacks from designated assortments at Kroger Family Stores or Kroger.com.
Those interested in scoring this new die-cast must make those purchases between October 1st and November 11th, 2023 to qualify, after which they’ll need to mail the original receipt for those items, blister cards from single packs or UPC codes from multipacks, a completed order form, and a check or money order for $7 shipping and processing to Hot Wheels Ford Bronco R at P.O. Box 1229, East Aurora, New York. Requests must be postmarked by November 15th, 2023 and received by November 23rd, 2023 to qualify.
This special Ford Bronco R 1:64 die-cast is finished in Spectraflame pale pink paint with various Blue Oval and Hot Wheels logos, Real Riders off-road wheels with red lines, a zinc-plated metal chassis, and a black interior, making it a pretty cool collectible for Blue Oval and Bronco fans alike.
