Ford Chile Sales Down 25 Percent In September 2023

The Ford Authority Take

After experiencing four consecutive months of increases, the notable drop in Ford Chile sales puts an end to the brand’s healthy market performance in the South American country. In addition to the year-over-year drop, Ford’s 1,244 September deliveries also represent a setback compared to August‘s 1,541 units sold.

Ford Ranger XLS 4x4 Brazil - Exterior 001 - Rear Three Quarters

Unlike previous months, the best-selling Ford Ranger was mainly responsible for the brand’s decline in September. The midsize pickup could not maintain its prior numbers and sold hundreds of fewer units compared to the same period in 2022, although it remains Ford’s best-selling model in Chile.

By contrast, the F-Series truck line saw a whopping five-digit increase and ranked as the brand’s second-best-selling nameplate in the country. In fact, the F-150 was the best-selling full-size pickup on the Chilean market and surpassed its rival Chevrolet Silverado last month.
