Following its launch in the U.S. for the 2022 model year, the Ford F-150 Lightning has since expanded its reach considerably, with many countries set to receive the EV pickup in the coming years. That list includes EV-crazed Norway, a place where we knew the Ford F-150 Lightning was headed after an announcement from the automaker back in April of this year. Now, the F-150 Lightning is also officially heading to Switzerland as well, The Blue Oval has revealed.
Though details regarding this forthcoming launch remain a bit scant, the Ford F-150 Lightning will only be sold in “limited numbers” when it arrives in Switzerland, which will be the second European market it’s sold in along with Norway. The EV pickup will land in Switzerland at the end of November, with a starting price of 127,000 Swiss francs, or $139,735 USD.
That price tag likely means that Swiss customers will be able to purchase a well-equipped version of the F-150 Lightning, though it’s unclear if it will be some sort of special variant or not. In Norway, customers only get one choice – the Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat Launch Edition – which is finished exclusively in Antimatter Blue and available in very limited numbers, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2024 as well. In these photos, we can see that this F-150 Lightning is also a Lariat-trimmed model, which means that Swiss customers could get precisely the same combination.
In any event, it’s unlikely that these will be the only two European markets offering the Ford F-150 Lightning in the near future. With the automaker set to electrify its entire lineup in that region by 2030 or sooner, it makes perfect sense to export the EV pickup there to give customers another option in that regard.
