The Ford Authority Take
Ford Maverick sales skyrocketed during Q3 2023, a sign that supply of the highly popular compact pickup gradually improved last quarter thanks to increased output from the Hermosillo Assembly plant. However, it’s worth noting that inventory of the Maverick at the dealer level was minimal during September 2023, indicating that there’s still a long way to go for FoMoCo to produce enough units to satisfy demand. In fact, the automaker hasn’t made a discount available for the Maverick in some time, as there is no need to incentivize its purchase, considering current high demand.
It’s possible that attractive updates and changes to the Maverick for the 2023 model year have contributed to its sustained popularity. Perhaps the most notable addition was that of the Tremor Off-Road Package, which adds quite a few off-road-ready mechanical and equipment upgrades to the pickup right off the showroom floor. The new Tremor Package should continue to drive demand for the already highly sought-after model.

This is just CRAZY AS HELL considering no one can even buy one as dealer stock is nill at best and Ranger inventory isn’t much better. For the money, I would much rather have a new Ranger ss they seem to be more available and at least have the choice of a Super Cab verses the the Crew cab only Maverick only. Make mine the Ranger Super Cab Xlt or Stx pleaee.
Ranger is crew cab only for 2024, and good luck finding one with the f’n UAW striking at the plant.
Maybe those f’n UAW members are fighting for everyone to have better benefits and wages (even scab anti-union ones like you)
They fill different niches to me, so let’s just be happy they both exist and compact pickups aren’t being ignore anymore.
Yeah, one is a compact truck. The other is an overpriced, slow-selling ugly duckling, possibly built with child labor.
But the Santa Cruz can easily gain some market back if Hyundai just paired it with the Tucson’s hybrid system. When your only engine choices are a slow NA engine or a turbo mated to a dual-clutch with both having poor mpg, the Maverick seems like the no brainer assuming you can find one.
First of all, Santa Cruz is the bench mark? Santa Cruz is nothing more than a Subaru Brat. Hyundai and Kia engineers don’t have any originality. All they need is Control “C” and then Control “V”. Slap that ugly emblem on it and call it their own. Being an engineer at any one of these plants has to be the easiest job on the planet. As easy as being a meteorologist in Arizona. What’s the weather like? Sunny and warm….. C’mon Ford, find something more convincing.
Not including the Honda Ridgeline in either segment was not an oversight. It’s is an example of both bad Journalism, as well as the lack of a knowledgeable editor. Very disappointing that they don’t cover this topic with any amount of rigor. The Ridgeline (in my opinion) should be listed in the Maverick / Santa Cruz Group, as it is closer to that in tech and cross shopping.
The Ridgeline starts at $38K+. I wouldn’t mind having one, but at that price….no way. Besides, I really like my Mav.
Honda Ridgeline is just a minivan with the back end cut off. Probably has Honda’s famous transmission and takata airbags failures too.
Approximately How long will it take to get my 2024 Ford Maverick XLT since I ordered it July 2023
i also ordered mine in July and just got my schedule for production notice for my Maverick Lariat today, with a build date the first week of December. Not sure how that will hold up or how long it’ll take to get delivered.
The HyunKia is just plain Fugly. It’s really not a competitor for anything. It was made (like all HyunKia’s and GenKia s) to fill airport rental lots, or be the “go-to brand” for the credit challenged and Dollar Store crowd, and then be thrown away.
