Back in May 2022, the all-new Ford E-Transit Custom debuted in Europe as the latest addition to that region’s all-electric van lineup, though that particular model was also joined by new ICE variants – including diesel options, a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the more luxurious E-Tourneo Custom, and the camping-focused Nugget. The Ford Transit Custom remains a strong seller in Europe, and the all-new, next-generation version of that same model officially launched in that part of the world this week, as Ford Authority recently reported. Now, it has also been joined by the all-new Ford Tourneo Custom as well.
The Ford Tourneo Custom is designed to appeal more to personal-use and business customers with room for up to nine occupants, along with more premium features such as track-mounted rear seating, hands-free power side doors, a B&O audio system, a panoramic glass roof, and a steering wheel with a rim that tilts to create a table or work surface. Like the Transit Custom, the new Tourneo Custom also rides on a brand new platform with an independent rear suspension that helps increase interior space, along with ride quality.
In terms of powertrains, Tourneo Custom customers have several to choose from, including Ford EcoBlue diesel engines with 136 PS, 150 PS, and 170 PS outputs, mated to either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. The all-new PHEV variant combines the 2.5L Atkinson cycle gas engine with an electric motor and an 11.8 kWh battery for a combined output of 232 PS and an all–electric driving range of up to 52 kilometers (32 miles). Finally, the E-Tourneo Custom features an all-electric powertrain with a 64 kWh usable battery pack and a 160 kW motor for up to 325 kilometers (202 miles) of range.
For now, diesel-powered versions of the new Ford Tourneo Custom are already in production, and customers can order the Tourneo Custom PHEV, with deliveries of that model expected to begin in the Spring of 2024, followed by the E-Tourneo Custom next summer.
We’ll have more on the Tourneo Custom soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Transit news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

So let me get this straight, I need to understand something. Ford has created a van that they don’t have the man power or parts to make. So let’s market that crap of it and tell the purchasers that they will have to wait. Cart…horse or horse….cart? Ford’s philosophy? Take the money then worry about it later.
I like this van very much and hope that it makes its way to America. Since I am hoping, I’ll add that I hope it arrives with AWD and with a bevy of outlets like the PowerBoost has. This really could be the ultimate roving camper-van.
