We’ve certainly seen our fair share of later-model Ford Thunderbird coupes pop up for sale at various online auctions in recent months, a list the runs the gamut from a 46k-mile 1989 T-Bird to a 1991 model once owned by NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, a 22k-mile 1995 Thunderbird, and a ’96 that previously lived with just one owner its entire life. Now, something extra cool has surfaced for sale on Bring a Trailer – this 1993 Ford Thunderbird Davey Allison Edition.
With just 744 miles on the clock, this 1993 Ford Thunderbird Davey Allison Edition is certainly a nice example of this vintage of T-Bird, but it’s also quite the rare machine, as just 1,500 of these special models were built in total. The idea behind it was to have Ford dealers equip Thunderbirds with the Davey Allison Edition appearance package, which commemorates the life of NASCAR legend Davey Allison, making it even more notable for fans of the sport – and the driver.
Purchased new at Denbigh-Garrett Ford in Ripley, West Virginia, this could very well be the nicest Davey Allison Edition Thunderbird out there, as its black paint is unmarred by any sort of imperfections – as one would expect from its supremely low mileage total. However, save for red side stripes and Davey Allison graphics on the quarter panels and trunk lid, one would be hard-pressed to tell that this isn’t just some regular old T-Bird.
The same goes for the interior, which is fitted with carpeted floor mats with embroidered Davey Allison logos, as well as a console-mounted plaque that reads “Davey Allison Limited Edition.” Otherwise, it’s all standard fare here, as well as under the hood, where one will find Ford’s 5.0L V8 that was factory-rated to send 200 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip rear axle. However, given its rarity and condition, we don’t doubt that this special model will stir up its fair share of interest at auction.
We’ll have more cool auction finds like this to share soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authorityfor more Ford Thunderbird news and ongoing Ford news coverage.

That is one nice car. Although I’ve never been a huge fan of this vintage T-birds, I always loved the way they rode and drove. And great cars.
