Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty pickups due to an issue with the hub extender.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the fasteners for the front wheel hub extender may be insufficiently tightened, which can result in the wheel and wheel extender detaching from the vehicle.
The hazards: wheel detachment can result in a loss of vehicle control and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.
Components: front wheel hub extender retaining nuts
Affected vehicles: select 2022-2023 Ford Super Duty F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600 models produced between December 8th, 2022, and August 31st, 2023.
Number of vehicles affected: 13
The fix: dealers will inspect the front wheel hub extender retaining nuts. If the retaining nuts are loose, dealers will replace the wheel hub extender, retaining nuts, and hub assembly. Repairs will be performed free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on November 27th, 2023. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23S59.

When it comes to manufacturing, it seems Ford CEO Jim Farley still can’t get things right. It is good Ford created a new COO position and filled it
So, while we wait for a notice, our front wheels could fall off.. nice Ford!
QUALITY at it’s finest……So sad! I would like to order or pick off dealer supply, a new F- 350, but I’m afraid of all the problems in the last few years with quality in these vehicles. So I guess I’ll just keep driving my current 2002 Super Duty, it has quality and no problems.
I thinking about getting either a F150 or F250 but lord knows all the Recalls Ford have wither Trucks I think I will stick with Dodge Ram.Unless Ford can convince me otherwise.
