There are two new colors on deck for the 2024 Ford F-150 including Shelter Green and Darkened Bronze Metallic. Here’s a first look at Shelter Green.
The only way to acquire Shelter Green, which is tagged with paint code DB, is to opt for the range-topping 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor, as the color is not offered on any other trims. As such, it can only be paired with the Black interior colorway.
As a reminder, all exterior colors for all 2024 Ford F-150 trims are as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):
- Agate Black Metallic (UM)
- Antimatter Blue Metallic (HX)
- Atlas Blue Metallic (B3)

Ford Authority spotted a 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor in Shelter Green out and about, showing off the exclusive hue in a real-world setting. Aside from the new green color, there are several changes on the way for the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 line, including a host of updates for the Raptor trim. This includes a new modular front bumper that’s ready for accessories, along with standard forged tow hooks, a wide blackout grille and new headlamps. It also boasts graphics above the wheel lip molding, with a body side graphic located beneath each and a blackout tape micro-texture paired with Code Orange coloring, among other updates.
Across the board, the 2024 Ford F-150 is more expensive than the outgoing 2023 model, as previously reported by Ford Authority. Customers can explore options and trims via the online configurator and pricing tool. Production of the 2024 F-150 is expected to kick off in mid-December at the Dearborn Truck Plant.

the unfortunate issue with Shelter Green is it’s the only color Ford offers that doesn’t actually designate it as a METALLIC color and yet, all the information online suggests it is indeed Metallic. Colors such as Avalanche, Cactus Grey and Oxford White do not have metallic flake and as such, are named accurately. I have one customer extremely upset because we asked Ford early on, before color swatches were widely available, if “Shelter Green” in the Raptor R would be a metallic color like the “Shelter Green Metallic” in the Ranger. We were told explicitly that it would NOT be a metallic color.
