2024 Ford Mustang 2.3L Extreme Active Exhaust Revealed

For many years now, aftermarket exhaust systems have been one of the more popular upgrades among the owners of all different kinds of vehicles. That includes the Ford F-150, which recently gained two of them from Ford Performance itself – the Extreme rear-exit and side-exit exhaust systems. As for the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang, well, the S650 generation pony car figures to have a robust market in that regard, and earlier this month, Magnaflow revealed a grand total of six different exhaust systems for that model. Now, Ford Performance has revealed its own pair of offerings for those that own a 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, specifically.

Those new products are the 2024 Ford Mustang Extreme active cat-back exhaust systems, which are available in two finishes in regards to the tips – chrome and black. The chrome pipes are sold under part number M-5200-M2EC and fit both coupe and convertible models equipped with the factory active exhaust. The system utilizes quad four-inch 304 stainless steel tips, 2.25-inch tubes, an integrated Y-pipe, and “ultra-smooth mandrel bends, warp-free flanges, and superior craftsmanship,” according to Ford. The beauty of this particular setup is that it also retains the OEM valance, diffuser, hangers, and mounts.

Next up, we have the 2024 Ford Mustang Extreme active cat-back exhaust system with black tips, which is listed in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-5200-M2EB. It’s identical to the chrome offering – save for its black chrome-plated exhaust tips – and no matter which way one goes, both exhaust systems have an MSRP of $2,725.

As previously mentioned, both of these exhaust systems are designed specifically to work with models equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine – not the GT or Dark Horse – as well as those with the factory active exhaust. In that regard, Ford notes that either gives the EcoBoost pony car a more aggressive sound, which will undoubtedly prove appealing to some.
