As expected, the launch of the all-new S650 generation 2024 Ford Mustang has been accompanied by an onslaught of new parts and accessories for the redesigned pony car, as has historically been the case. Along with aftermarket upgrades like six different Magnaflow exhaust systems, the Ford Performance catalog has recently expanded to add a supercharger kit, both Extreme and Sport exhaust systems for EcoBoost models, and the nifty titanium shift knob present in the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. Now, Ford has also added an active Sport exhaust for 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse models, too.
Sold in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-5200-DHS, this new Sport exhaust system is compatible with Dark Horse models equipped with the active exhaust, which comes standard on the new range-topping variant. It consists of 304 stainless steel three-inch tubing utilizing “ultra-smooth mandrel bends, warp-free flanges, and superior craftsmanship,” according to Ford.
The cat-back exhaust system also features quad five-inch black chrome plated stainless steel tips that help it better match the Dark Horse’s darkened trim pieces and lighting elements, and retains the use of the OEM quad tip valance, diffuser, hangers, and mounts, which makes it rather easy to install, as well as neatly integrated to retain a factory appearance.
At the same time, The Blue Oval says that the new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Sport Active cat-back exhaust system unleashes even more sound than the factory setup, which is notable given how good (and loud) the car sounds in OEM form. Regardless, we imagine that more than a few owners will be looking to do precisely that to their pony cars, and for them, this new exhaust system is currently available via the Ford Performance catalog and through Blue Oval dealers with an MSRP of $2,800.
