The all-new, redesigned 2024 Ford Ranger debuted for North America this past May (a while after it launched in select international markets), but to date, has faced its fair share of challenges in terms of production. Amid various supply chain challenges, build dates for 2024 Ford Ranger retail orders kept getting pushed back, after which the UAW strike at the Michigan Assembly plant resulted in very few examples being built in September, followed by precisely zero in October. Regardless, Ford Authority did catch up with this 2024 Ford Ranger XLT at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, where it was on display for the masses to see up close and personal.
Up front, we get a good look at the completely new styling present on the 2024 Ford Ranger, which is far more angular and aggressive compared to the outgoing model. That includes features such as C-clamp headlights, along with sharper, bolder lines, though each trim – XL, XLT, and Lariat – all feature unique front end styling cues to help customers distinguish between them.
That treatment continues down the side and into the rear, as in this case, the pickup is fitted with a set of 17-inch gray-painted aluminum wheels wrapped with more aggressive tires. There are a set of FX4 decals present on the bedsides, along with new taillights out back and rear steps, to boot. The FX4 Off-Road Package – a $1,295 option – adds some of those elements, plus black running boards, an electronic locking rear differential, an exposed steel bash plate, off-road tuned shocks, a variety of skid plates, and Trail Control, plus the Terrain Management System.
Inside the cabin, this 2024 Ford Ranger features cloth seats, while we also get a better look at the pickup’s new amenities that include an available wireless charging pad, fold-flat rear setbacks, a standard 8-inch digital instrument cluster or optional 12.4-inch unit, a standard 10.1-inch or available 12-inch center infotainment screen, and Sync 4.
As Ford Authority previously reported, production of the 2024 Ford Ranger is already underway, and the redesigned pickup starts out at $34,160, including $1,595 for destination and delivery.
