Ford Transit Wins Parkers 2024 Best Large Van Award

The Ford Transit family has long been a best-seller in Europe, which is notable given how incredibly popular vans are in that particular region, in general. However, the Transit lineup isn’t just popular among commercial customers in Europe, as critics have also handed out their fair share of awards to The Blue Oval’s vans in recent years, a list that includes the Ford Transit Custom, which was just named as the “Best Medium Van” and “Best Commercial Vehicle” overall by Parkers UK. It wasn’t alone in that regard either, as the full-size Ford Transit also took home the award for “Best Large Van,” too.

“The best-known van in the UK retains its Best Large Van title thanks, once again, to the excellence and breadth of its offering,” Parkers UK wrote of its selection. “There are large vans that are potentially newer and fresher in terms of their cabin, but none offer the Transit’s variety. This is down, in a large part, to the fantastic E-Transit, which is streaks ahead of the rest of the class when it comes to an all-electric van. But there is so much more to the Transit than that.”

“It is well equipped, has front-, rear- and four-wheel drive versions, is supported by a comprehensive dealer network and the ever-expanding Ford Pro proposition and it is excellent to drive. It is, in short, a consummate all-rounder that justifies its position as the nation’s most famous name in commercial vehicles.”

“The Transit is well equipped, has front-, rear- and four-wheel drive options, is supported by a comprehensive dealer network, and the ever-expanding Ford Pro proposition, and it is excellent to drive,” added Tom Webster, Deputy Head of the Digital Automotive Hub and Vans Editor for Parkers. “It is the consummate all-rounder that justifies its position as the nation’s most famous name in commercial vehicles.”
