Though we’re routinely enticed by all sorts of cool Blue Oval auction offerings on a daily basis, there are a number of amazing rides up for grabs right now as part of the “George Foreman Collection” sale hosted by Hagerty. As one might guess by that name, this auction consists of a host of rides owned by Olympic gold medalist, two-time heavyweight champ, car collector, and purveyor of the “George Foreman Grill” – George Foreman himself, and includes a super-low-mile 1995 Saleen Mustang, a barely used 2005 Ford GT, and this – a 1941 Ford De Luxe Coupe.
This 1941 Ford De Luxe Coupe is one of 50 rides up for sale as part of this auction – which comes straight from Foreman’s own personal collection – adding a bit of celebrity credence to what is already a pretty amazing vehicle. The pre-war coupe is rather rare in today’s world, as it was built just before Ford temporarily ceased production of its passenger vehicles to focus on helping the government prevail in World War II, too.
Finished in black with a brown broadcloth interior, this vintage Blue Oval machine is in immaculate condition, and it’s still powered by its original Flathead V8, which is mated to a three-speed manual transmission. There isn’t really any history on this particular car, but it certainly looks more than presentable in the photos, at least.
The listing does note that this De Luxe Coupe has been in long-term storage and may need some work to make it roadworthy and/or reliable to drive, and due to a golf cart-induced fire a few years ago, might also have some oxidation or cosmetic defects as a result. Regardless, for the right price, this stylish, vintage Blue Oval classic might just wind up being a bargain as a result.
