The Lincoln Navigator – like many high-priced luxury vehicles – tends to lose a good portion of its value in the first few years of ownership, which is obviously a bad thing for those that buy one new, but great news for those that purchase one on the used vehicle market. In fact, the Lincoln Navigator just earned a 2024 Best CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Value in America Award from Vincentric in the Large Luxury SUV segment for that reason and several others, joining its platform mate – the Ford Expedition – which took home top honors in the Large SUV segment.
The Lincoln Navigator managed to earn a win in this year’s CPO awards for a handful of reasons, beating out nine of its rivals in the process. According to Vincentric, those factors include the Navigator’s expected ownership costs that are 2.8 percent below anticipated levels, as well as the fact that the large, luxurious SUV has the lowest repair costs in its class.
To determine the 2024 Best CPO Value in America Award winners, Vincentric conducted a statistical analysis to discover which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. The company analyzed over 18,000 vehicle configurations using eight cost factors – depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. These costs were measured while taking into account the CPO warranty offered by each manufacturer while also applying mileage requirements necessary to be authorized as an OEM CPO vehicle. Each CPO vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus Washington DC, with the assumption that each would be driven 15,000 miles annually over five years.
“CPO vehicles can be a smart way for car shoppers to save on costs, but there can also be an overwhelming number of options to choose from,” said David Wurster, Vincentric President. “The Vincentric Best CPO Value in America Awards can help consumers make an informed vehicle purchase decision. And with most of this year’s winners being repeat winners in their segments, consumers can have confidence that buying an award-winning CPO vehicle will likely deliver consistent value over time.”
