Those looking for a nice, low-mile, or unique S197 generation Ford Mustang have had plenty to choose from in recent months, with offerings ranging from a 20k-mile 2007 GT to a 2008 Shelby Turbo prototype to a 2009 Shelby GT500 Super Snake. Now, that trend continues with this super sanitary 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 that’s currently up for grabs over at Bring a Trailer with just 37k miles on the clock.
Since it was sold new, this 2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has bounced around a few different states and owners, but it certainly hasn’t been driven much over the years, regardless. Thus, the Performance White beauty remains in fantastic condition with few flaws, though there is one concern worth noting – the car sustained “minor to moderate damage” to its left front, left side, and left rear in 2021, though that damage has obviously been repaired.
The same goes for the interior, which is in very nice condition and adorned with Dark Charcoal leather seats with embossed Shelby Cobra logos, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Ford’s Shaker 500 sound system, a CD stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning. Underneath, the muscular pony car utilizes four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo front calipers and an SVT-tuned suspension to boost performance.
Under the hood, this Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is powered by the supercharged 5.4L V8 that was factory-rated to produce 500 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Given its mysterious past, it’s difficult to say just what this GT500 will garner at auction, but we imagine that it won’t slip too far in price, given how incredibly nice it is – and how cool these S197 GT500s are on their own regard.
