While the modern-day Ford F-150 isn’t what one might call a classic or a collector’s item – at least not yet – we have seen some uniquely modified examples pop up at various online auctions in recent months. That includes a lowered, supercharged 2019 XL street machine of sorts, as well as a very cool 2020 prerunner build. Now, this similarly modified 2019 Ford F-150 has surfaced for sale at Bring a Trailer with some enticing upgrades as well.
In recent years, base model Ford F-150 pickups with regular cabs, short beds, and V8 power have become popular targets for these types of builds, though in this case, the XL trimmed model has some chrome bits and pieces installed as part of the Chrome Appearance Package, giving it a classier appearance compared to those work trucks and their black plastic trim. Regardless, it still doesn’t look like much more than a stock F-150, save for the truck’s lowered stance, 22-inch wheels, and Nitto tires.
The same goes for the interior, which is bone stock and finished in gray cloth. However, there are a few modern, welcome amenities to be found here, a list that includes air conditioning, cruise control, and an Alpine touchscreen stereo, as well as power windows, door locks, and mirrors.
The real story lies under the hood, where one will find that the stock 5.0L V8 Coyote engine has been treated to an Edelbrock supercharger, an open-element air filter, Injector Dynamics ID1050X fuel injectors, and aftermarket engine management software, giving it an unspecified extra amount of juice. Overall, it’s a cool, unassuming ride, one that could easily take more than a few sports cars by surprise at the stop light – and that’s precisely why these kinds of builds have become so popular as of late.
