While the Ford Transit has long been one of the world’s best-selling vans, the utilitarian model isn’t exactly what most would consider a collectible. However, we have seen a few pop up at various online collector car auction sites in recent years, though most of those are camper conversions, at least. That isn’t the case with this 2019 Ford Transit 150 Explorer Limited SE that’s currently up for grabs at Cars & Bids, but it is a truly unique find, regardless.
In fact, it isn’t very often we come across Ford Transit conversions vans at all, making this particular example a pretty special vehicle, indeed. The Transit was modified into its current state by Conversion Van Land out of Ohio, who proceeded to give it a bevy of modifications that include 16-inch wheels, a sport roof, tinted windows, power-operated side steps, a U-Haul trailer hitch, and a Webasto sunroof on the outside.
Inside, the van has been treated to goodies such as wood trim, leather seating, swiveling second-row seats, a power-adjustable and folding third row seat, a center console, LED and ambient lighting, window shades, a vacuum, an onboard air compressor, an auxiliary air conditioning system, an HD TV with a digital tuner, a DVD and Blu-Ray player, various charging ports and power points, and a JBL sound system.
Mechanically speaking, this Ford Transit is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Overall, it’s a cool and extremely unique conversion van that we rarely see these days, and one that we imagine would be quite the comfy cruiser for that next long road trip, too.
