Ford Authority has spent quite a bit of time with the 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Tremor, getting a good firsthand taste of the affordable pickup’s performance and capabilities. More recently, we spotted a Maverick Lariat Tremor at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show showing off its Avalanche Gray paint, along with a unique accessory: the Chase Rack.
The 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat Tremor features a myriad of off-road ready accessories and upgrades right from the showroom floor, thanks to things like its off-road-tuned suspension and tough front skid plates that help protect the pickup’s more sensitive bits. A heavy duty transmission cooler helps regulate temperatures under heavy loads, while a beefed-up 4WD system helps the Maverick Tremor tackle any terrain. The pickup rolls on a tough set of 17-inch Machined-face Tarnished Dark Aluminum wheels with Orange Painted Pockets wrapped in sturdy all-terrain tires.
Five selectable drive modes – Normal, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud & Ruts and Sand – prep the pickup for a variety of conditions, and Trail Control is just a push of the button away for a little extra assistance, while the off-road screen in the instrument cluster relays relevant information to the driver.
Exterior highlights include unique touches that are exclusive to Tremor models. The upper grille boasts special styling with Tremor Orange accents, and the splash of color is carried to the tow hooks, which are also painted with Tremor Orange accents. Tremor badges and decals are interspersed throughout to set the Maverick Tremor apart, while Black Chrome headlamps and taillamps compliment its Avalanche Gray exterior.
As for the Chase Rack, this optional add-on features “Maverick” script, upping the pickup’s curb appeal while also improving its cargo capacity. While this accessory is not a factory option, it can be easily installed and costs $750 from Ford Performance.
Looking ahead, the Tremor models are in line for some changes. The 2024 Ford Maverick Tremor drops the optional Tremor Off-Road Appearance Package, gaining a handful of new graphics in its stead.

Maverick tremor is nice but wow does it need bigger wheels and tires to complete the look and make it authentic. Ford you missed out completing the look !
Well, they did put special orange paint on those tiny wheels! I’m sure that cost a bunch.
