The 2024 Ford Expedition received a few minor updates over its predecessor, including a new color, the intriguingly named Excursion Package, and a new smart-charging USB port. But it otherwise remains unchanged from 2022, when the lineup received its last major update. That probably won’t bother Kelley Blue Book, which has routinely bestowed the SUV with its Best Buy award, as the publication has found that it beats out all other rivals in its segment based on its criteria. And now, it announced that the latest version is a 2024 Best Buy award recipient.
The Kelley Blue Book Best Buy awards are given out based on its analysis of vehicle-related data like vehicle pricing, consumer reviews, and ratings, in addition to its five-year Cost to Own information system. This is the seventh consecutive year that the Expedition has won the Best Full-Size SUV award. The 2024 Ford Maverick, 2024 Ford F-150, and 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning also won in their respective award categories, meaning Ford took home four awards – more than any other brand.
“The 2024 Ford Expedition boasts refined driving manners, a comfortable ride, and impressive fuel economy (for its size) –things you would not expect from a full-size SUV,” said Kelley Blue Book. “The Expedition can also tow up to 9,300 pounds, and seat up to eight people in its modern, cavernous interior.”
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2024 Ford Expedition will be the last year before a substantial update arrives for the full-size SUV. Recent photos suggest the 2025 Expedition will receive significant cosmetic alterations, in addition to other enhancements. The automaker will likely update the cabin with an updated infotainment system too. The UAW contract also stated that the Expedition will receive a hybrid variant, although it isn’t clear if that will arrive in 2025 or at a later date. The 2025 Lincoln Navigator is also expected to receive its own update too.
