2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Wins KBB Best Buy Award

Ford had a great showing at the 2024 Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards. The Ford Maverick won the title in its class, as did the Ford Expedition. In fact, The Blue Oval was the winningest manufacturer in this year’s Best Buy awards, taking four total, thanks to the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning, which took home the Best Buy Award for the second year in a row.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning was recognized as the Best Electric Truck, and was commended for its strong standing in a relatively new segment. KBB says that the F-150 Lightning is superior because of its reasonable pricing, impressive range per charge and slew of advanced tech features. Specifically, the publication calls out the F-150 Lightning’s Pro Power Onboard, which “takes convenience to new heights by providing in-bed power, allowing you to cook on the go with a powered-up crockpot en route to your in-laws.”

There’s plenty to look forward to when it comes to the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning. The electric pickup gains the Flash trim for the forthcoming model year, which features a larger battery pack along with a host of other tech goodies inside. The Platinum Black model, meanwhile, features a matte black wrap, among other upgrades. Across the board, the electric pickup gains a heat pump to address range loss in cold conditions, and the electric pickup will eventually offer a lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery down the line to maximize efficiency and avoid typical battery degradation over time.

However, the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning does step away from several options that were previously offered on the electric pickup. The Platinum trim has four fewer speakers than the outgoing 2023 model. Additionally, the Active Park Assist 2.0 was deleted.
