2024 Ford Maverick Wins Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Award

Kelley Blue Book released its 2024 Best Buy award winners this week, and The Blue Oval landed on top in four categories, with the 2024 Ford Expedition earning the title in its respective segment. Historically, the KBB awards have been kind to the Ford Maverick pickup in particular. The compact truck earned the Best Buy recommendation in 2022 and again in 2023, and now, the 2024 Ford Maverick can add yet another accolade to the trophy case, having been recognized as a winner in the 2024 Best Buy awards.

The annual Best Buy Awards are based on the analysis of data including vehicle pricing, consumer reviews and ratings, cost to own which includes depreciation, insurance, maintenance, financing, fuel, fees and taxes for new cars. Specifically, the 2024 Ford Maverick was named as the best compact truck, commended for its manageable size without sacrificing its capabilities.

The publication also points out the fact that the Maverick has a lower ride height than most other pickups, meaning it’s much easier to load and unload and “doesn’t require body-builder-size-arms.” The Maverick is also recognized for its styling and “personality,” making it an attractive purchase.

“Ford didn’t invent the compact pickup; they just reminded everyone how much Americans missed having the option,” KBB says.

As for what’s in store for the 2024 Ford Maverick, the popular compact pickup has quite a few changes and updates on deck. For example, it no longer features the hybrid 2.5L I4 engine as standard, and no longer has the manual sliding rear window, either, or the windshield wiper deicer. Meanwhile, the handy SecuriCode keypad is a dealer-installed option only. The Lariat trim level was also changed, as it now boasts the Lariat Luxury Package as standard, along with the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist Package, while other elements such as the body color mirror caps are now painted black.

Unsurprisingly, the 2024 Ford Maverick is pricier than the outgoing 2023 model, starting at $23,400.
