The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is one mean machine, debuting for North America in May 2023, and Ford Authority has spotted quite a few examples out in the wild from a distance. For example, we saw one in a coat of brown paint out and about, and another in Cactus Gray. Hot Pepper Red lends itself well to the muscular pickup – and surprisingly, so does road grime and salt from driving in adverse conditions. White is also a striking color for the Ranger Raptor, and recently, Ford Authority had the chance to get up close with the sporty pickup at the 2023 North American International Auto Show for the first time since its introduction.
This particular 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor is painted in Oxford White (paint code YZ), showing off its beefed-up styling and exclusive exterior accents, such as the Raptor insignia on the bedside and bold Ford script across the front grille. Under the skin, compared to the “regular” Ranger, the Ranger Raptor features beefed-up frame with reinforced front rails, front shock towers, rear shock brackets, and mounting points, giving it the ability to tackle tough off-road terrain right from the showroom floor.
Under the hood rests the Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, which is tuned to produce 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, routed via the pickup’s 10-speed automatic transmission, an electronically-controlled on-demand two-speed transfer case, and front- and rear-locking differentials. A wide variety of selectable drive modes are just a button press away, including Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl and Baja.
Inside the cabin, the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor features special Code Orange accents, along with a sport steering wheel with magnesium shift paddles and a Code Orange center mark, six upfitter switches and Ford Performance front seats.
Thus far, the 2024 Ford Ranger is a bit of a rare breed across the board, as production of the midsize pickup has been severely constrained at the Michigan Assembly plant. From July through November, less than 700 examples have been produced, potentially signaling a slow ramp up while the company irons out any issues with the new pickup.
Customers interested in securing the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor for themselves can expect to shell out at least $56,960.
