Production of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R wrapped up after the 2020 model year was built out, but there are still quite a few examples out there that are practically new. Extremely low-mileage examples preserved by their original owners that have popped up for sale recently include one with just 18 miles on the odometer, another with 250 miles racked up and a third that was barely past its break-in period. Another pristine example is currently looking for its next home on Bring a Trailer, as this 2018 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R has only been driven 599 miles.
This like-new Mustang Shelby GT350R is finished in Lightning Blue Metallic, and it rolls on a flashy set of 19-inch carbon fiber seven-spoke wheels over Brembo brake calipers. A carbon fiber rear wing is affixed to the decklid, and it features a rearview camera and LED taillights with sequential turn signals over quad exhaust outlets. Up front, it sports HID projector headlights and a carbon composite front grille, functional hood and fender vents, and a Shelby branded front splitter.
Inside, this 2018 Mustang Shelby GT350R features Recaro seats trimmed in Ebony cloth and Miko suede paired with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a touchscreen infotainment system with voice-activated navigation functions, a rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, a CD stereo and cruise control. As with all R models, it does not have a rear seat. The serialized plaque mounted on the passenger’s side shows that this chassis is No. JR297
Under the hood, the Mustang Shelby GT350R is motivated by the 5.2L Voodoo V8 engine, affixed with a commemorative plaque displaying the signature of the engine’s builder. That powerhouse is factory rated at 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, and it boasts additional coolers for the engine, transmission and differential. Power is routed to the rear wheels via the six-speed manual transmission.
At the time of this writing, the high bid sits at $65,500, and the auction will close on December 30th, 2023. The selling dealer states that the pony car’s original window sticker reveals a total MSRP of $69,015.
