Champion NASCAR Ford Driver Ryan Blaney Gets Engaged

The 2023 calendar year is certainly one to remember for NASCAR Ford driver Ryan Blaney. He broke a long winless streak at Charlotte in May, beat a fellow Blue Oval driver to the line at Talladega in October in a photo finish, and then made it to the Championship 4 after winning at Martinsville just a few weeks later before pulling off a second-place finish at Phoenix in November – winning the 2023 Cup Series championship in the process. Now that his whirlwind season is over, Blaney recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Gianna Tulio, capping off a solid year both on and off the track.

In a post on social media, Tulio – who is a brand representative for Hooters – revealed that Blaney popped the question on December 12th, a special day for the NASCAR Ford driver. After all, he drives the No. 12 Mustang in the Cup Series, so it’s only appropriate that he proposed on the 12th day of the 12th month of the year he brought that No. 12 to the championship win.

Blaney and Tulio began dating in mid-2020. The two celebrated their three-year anniversary this year, and Tulio is frequently seen attending Cup Series races to cheer Blaney on.

Looking ahead to the 2024 Cup Series season, Blaney will still be behind the wheel of the No. 12 NASCAR Ford fielded by Penske Racing, but it will look a bit different, taking on the form of the all-new seventh-generation Mustang Dark Horse. Blaney has already taken the new Mustang racer for a spin at Phoenix, taking part in a testing session earlier this month to try out some new aerodynamic improvements that will hopefully improve the race car’s downforce. He seemed optimistic about the new race car’s performance, which will hopefully help mitigate the effects of turbulent air in traffic.
