Vincentric’s 2024 Best CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Value in America Awards have thus far produced some impressive results for The Blue Oval, with numerous models represented. That list includes the Ford Expedition, which topped the Large SUV category, the Lincoln Navigator, which ranked first in the Large Luxury SUV segment, the Ford Transit Connect and its wins in the Small Passenger Cargo Van and Small Commercial Cargo Van categories, the Ford E-Transit, which topped the Large Cargo Van segment, and the entire Ford van lineup, which also won its own separate 2024 Best CPO Value in America Award, too. However, those models were also joined by the multi-award-winning Ford F-150 Lightning, too.
This year, the Ford F-150 Lightning topped the full-size half-ton pickup segment – outperforming six rivals – by presenting owners with ownership costs that were 13.8 percent below expected levels, along with the best economy, lowest operating costs, and lowest maintenance costs in its class.
To determine the 2024 Best CPO Value in America Award winners, Vincentric conducted a statistical analysis to discover which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. The company analyzed over 18,000 vehicle configurations using eight cost factors to do this – depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. These costs were measured while taking into account the CPO warranty offered by each manufacturer while also applying mileage requirements necessary to be authorized as an OEM CPO vehicle. Each CPO vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus Washington DC, with the assumption that each would be driven 15,000 miles annually over five years.
