In recent months, new vehicle incentives have begun to make a major comeback following a period of several years when those discounts were virtually non-existent. This is spurred on by the fact that as supply chain issues have eased, production has increased, all while rising interest rates and high prices have prompted many to slow down their spending. Now that the United Auto Workers (UAW) union has officially ratified its new contract with Ford, it seems as if there’s another discount shoppers can take advantage of as well, according to a dealer bulletin recently seen by CarsDirect.
Officially known as the UAW Member Offer, this new deal offers shoppers $1,500 off the cost of a new Ford vehicle and is slated to run across the entire U.S. from December 8th, 2023 through January 2nd, 2024. Both new 2023 and 2024 model year vehicles are eligible for this discount, and it even includes a number of vehicles that typically haven’t been available with any sort of discount, such as the Ford Bronco, Ford Bronco Raptor, Ford Maverick, and the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150, to name just a few.
What’s also particularly notable about this UAW Member Offer is that it’s seemingly available for everyone to take advantage of – not just actual UAW members – and it can also be stacked with other incentives, to boot. Those vary by region, but as CarsDirect points out, West Coast shoppers could combine it with a $4,500 offer for the 2023 Ford Bronco Sport, which would give them a significant $6,000 off the crossover’s sticker price.
Ultimately, this new deal seems like a good way for Ford to tout its new master contract agreement with the union, all while giving buyers an enticing reason to rethink that potential new vehicle purchase as demand has waned somewhat in recent weeks.
