Ford Maverick Production Increased In November 2023

The Ford Maverick has been in production for about two years, although 2024 represents the third iteration of the compact pickup. There were a number of changes introduced for 2024, perhaps in an attempt to streamline production due to overwhelming demand for what continues to be the brand’s least expensive vehicle in its portfolio. Regardless, recent data from the November 2023 U.S. sales report indicates that the model year changeover was barely an inconvenience, as the Hermosillo Assembly plant had its best monthly output for the Maverick last month.

In November, the Hermosillo plant produced 13,826 examples of the 2024 Ford Maverick, an increase of just 334 units over October. That three percent increase may seem significant, but it represents the highest monthly output for Maverick production in 2023. Additionally, November was the first full month of 2024 model year production, which means the automaker didn’t have any issues with the changeover whatsoever. The plant has been able to crank out over 13,000 pickups per month since September, a potential sign that supply chain issues are not currently impacting the gasoline Maverick. By contrast, the company was able to produce 10,950 examples of the Ford Bronco Sport at the plant last month, the first time in 2023 that Hermosillo was unable to produce more of the compact off-road SUV than the Maverick.

Now that the plant is seemingly able to crank out more  examples of the pickup than ever, it’s possible dealers will finally be able to keep it in stock. If buyers do find a 2024 Ford Maverick on the lot though, chances are it will be packaged differently than its predecessor. That’s because the hybrid is no longer standard due to supply chain issues, and features like the manual sliding rear window and windshield wiper de-icer have been completely removed from the lineup. Additionally, the keyless entry keypad is now a dealer-installed option. Prices also increased across the board as well.

Great production rates. BUT!!! My XL hybrid was scheduled for the week of 10/30. Then it was rescheduled for the week 11/13 then11/20 then 11/27 then 12/4. Still says in production for 3 weeks but not built yet. Guess they still can’t get the hybrid power plant. Oh well maybe I’ll get it someday.

Stop building the Bronco Sport since lots have plenty of those sitting around not selling. Build more Mavericks and stop the dealers from putting 300 miles on them and then adding 10-12 K to their price please.
