Though EV sales continue to rise and set new records, demand hasn’t quite grown as quickly as most expected – which has prompted Ford and other automakers to scale back investments and production plans in that regard. As Ford Authority reported earlier this week, that includes the Ford F-150 Lightning, which has had its planned production totals for 2024 cut in half. Meanwhile, another all-electric model in the current Blue Oval lineup – the Ford Mustang Mach-E – saw its own drop in production in November, according to the automaker’s latest sales report.
Last month, a grand total of 5,735 Ford Mustang Mach-E crossovers were built at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant, which is 2,160 units or 27 percent fewer than October, when that number came in at 7,895 units, and is also the second-lowest total of the 2023 calendar year so far. That figure also brings the Mach-E’s year-to-date production total up to 90,398 units. Regardless, this latest result is a stark contrast to earlier in the year, as Ford built 7,381 Mach-Es in March, 11,858 in April, and 13,639 in May.
It’s unclear why Ford Mustang Mach-E production fell so dramatically in November, but sales of the EV crossover increased by 21.33 percent to 4,294 units last month, year-over-year. Additionally, year-to-date sales as of the end of last month are up 3.53 percent versus the first 11 months of 2022, totaling 35,908 units thus far.
Regardless, FoMoCo is offering some significant discounts on the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E in the month of November, as Ford Authority recently reported. These offers vary by region, but include Red Carpet Lease deals of as low as $479 per month for 36 months, or – for those that prefer to finance their purchase – 1.9 percent APR financing for 60 months plus a grand total of $3,000 in Bonus Cash.
We’ll have more on the Mach-E soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Mustang Mach-E news and non-stop Ford news coverage.
