Ford Ranger Raptor Officially Arrives In Colombia

When it isn’t setting unique world records, the all-new, redesigned Ford Ranger Raptor has been steadily launching in different parts of the globe, a list that most recently includes not only the U.S., but also the Middle East, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil – the latter of which was quick to scoop up all 400 examples that went on sale in just a few hours this past week. Now, the Ford Ranger Raptor has arrived in yet another market – Colombia – the automaker has announced.

To help kick off this launch, Ford had several Ranger pickups on hand that interested parties could test out on a special off-road track, which was open to both the public and the press. That event lasted a grand total of two weeks, giving a large number of people the chance to not only check out the new mid-sizer up close, but also test it out in real-world conditions.

The Blue Oval didn’t reveal whether or not the Ford Ranger Raptor sold in Colombia is any different than the versions on sale in other parts of the world, though it’s likely quite similar. In most markets, the high-performance off-roader is powered by the twin-turbocharged Ford 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, which generates 392 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque in every market except for Europe, where it’s rated to produce 284 horsepower and 362 pound-feet.

The Ranger Raptor also differs from its more pedestrian counterparts thanks to unique features including more aggressive bodywork with a signature “Ford” script grille, Fox shocks, beefy all-terrain tires, and an interior with jet fighter-inspired seats and a pair of 12.4 inch screens – one for the digital instrument cluster, and another running SYNC 4.
