Lincoln Navigator Production Also Rebounded In November 2023

The United Auto Workers (UAW) surprised Ford by walking out of the Kentucky Truck plant – which builds the Ford Super Duty, Ford Expedition, and Lincoln Navigator – roughly a month after it began its targeted strike against the Big Three automakers in September, which promptly brought production to a halt at it and several other facilities, too. Then, in late October, the two sides reached a tentative agreement that effectively ended the strike, which was ratified by workers shortly thereafter. Regardless, as one would expect, this action had a significant impact on production of those aforementioned models. With workers back on the line in November, however, Ford Expedition production ramped up considerably, as was also the case with the Lincoln Navigator, according to FoMoCo’s most recent sales report.

In October, The Blue Oval managed to produce just 866 Lincoln Navigator SUVs, which was 1,181 or 58 percent less than September, when 2,047 units rolled off the assembly line at the Kentucky Truck plant, as well as the fewest number of Navigators that have been built in a single month in the 2023 calendar year thus far.

However, in November, that number increased to 1,889 units, which is 1,023 or 118 percent more than the prior month, though it’s just the eighth most productive month of the 2023 calendar year so far. It also brings total Navigator production this year up to 20,605 units, with one month left to go.

Meanwhile, both the Lincoln Navigator and its platform-mate – the Ford Expedition – are set to receive some updates soon. As Ford Authority previously reported, hybrid versions of both SUVs are seemingly likely to debut alongside the forthcoming 2025 model year updates planned for both models, which include revised, Range Rover-like exterior styling and new taillights for the Expedition, along with Nautilus-like cues for the Navigator, plus revised interior designs and even a coast-to-coast display screen for the big Lincoln SUV.
